Classy Is as Classy Does
By Roz Young, May 3 2011
It’s the Royal Wedding today {editor's note: I posted this a few days late. Sorry.}, so umm, cheerio and all that business. I’ve been thinking about how it’s overrated to be “classy”. Sure, Kate looks all elegant and Will is dapper and the whole to-do is reeking of adorable pomp and expensive circumstance. But why are there throngs of people camping out for days to be a part of it? Everyone loves royalty I guess, until they get sick of being peasants and lop the heads off the nobility.
I’m the only person I know not in love with Kate’s dress (back off ok, I no likey the lace sleeves!). She’s glowing here in the Sarah Burton creation (from Alexander McQueen) and blah blah Grace Kelly blah fashion blah designers blah blah blah. I’ll bet it itches in the arm pits like crazy. Someone suggested it had to have sleeves, well, a cute little cap sleeve can be nice. But, whatever, Kate loved it, that’s really all that matters. Please don’t stone me.

Maybe I was just hoping for a giant fluffy skirt that would scream “I’m a princess now bitches!” to the world… Something like this 2011 Vera Wang dress…

In other news, I’m a terrible judge of these things anyways. I’m always sitting around waiting for an opportunity to yell out “That’s what she said!” and I have a floor hockey bruise on my thigh that causes me to curse like a sailor when I poke it (and I’m so classy I keep poking it). I recently hollowed out a watermelon and wore it as a bra to a party. So I don’t know nothin’ about being dressed up proper.
