What with all this space available to me, I thought I'd put together a collection of some of my photography of which I am most proud. Isn't that a little egotistical? You might ask... Well, yes. But I'm a guy with my own website, so I think we can all agree I'm a little self indulgent. I mean, it's not like pride is a deadly sin or something...

If you like these pictures, be sure to check out my old blog for a tongue-in-cheek guide to using post-processing to disguise a lack of talent!

space babeThis was taken while filming our fake Space Babes trailer. She may have been hesitant at first, but once we got her into costume and makeup, Heather's inner starlet shined. zombie davidOur first attempt at a latex zombie wound. I think it turned out pretty well. Of course it helped that David was a natural zombie.
zombie mikeMike was our scariest zombie, and I think was our best makeup job too. I love the blisters. Djemma Al FnaThis is the Djemma Al Fna in Marrakech. To me this picture evokes the myriad sights, smells and sounds, captured in the orange light pushing through the smoke.
egretAn egret, silhouetted by the sunset. elk islandElk Island National Park. It was a difficult day for photos, with an overcast sky and drab trees, but I think this one turned out really well. I love the simplicity and variation in textures.

eva blurI enjoy playing with depth of field and ended up getting one of my favourite pictures of Eva.

fence post sunsetA classic prairie scene.
boatingBoating on Big Rideau Lake. I always feel like this picture belongs in a cottage country magazine :) farm stormA storm rolls in, just north of Calgary.
eva key westEva in Key West. I love the dreamy effect of the high key lighting, selective colour and slight blur. When I took this the scene brought to mind the end of an old film, just before the credits start to roll. The lack of colour in the bare trees, contrasted with the bright red coat gave me the idea to use selective colour.
fog and dogsEva out walking the dogs after a night of freezing rain. I love the atmosphere in these foggy pictures. frozen riverA river starts to freeze in Jasper National Park. I love the wide angle lens low to the ground. If only I could afford a tilt/shift lens to get crisp focus all the way to the mountains I'd be set.
Barbary macaques in Gibraltar. National Geographic, here I come. hdr sunriseHDR image of a sunrise in Saskatchewan. My most popular picture on flickr (ooooh...)
A cloudy day in Kananaskis. I sure do love clouds and fog. This is one of my favourite pictures. I took it and I'm still surprised it's not photoshopped at all.
I love the atmosphere here. It feels like a silent horror movie to me. Another picture that reminds me of classic cinema.
Parliament at Christmas. The flame is backlit by a police cruiser, also nicely highlighting the steam on the fountain. This reflection always plays with my mind a bit. Apparently I'm a pretty simple guy.
Yet another gorgeous Saskatchewan sunrise. A fairy tale castle in Segovia, Spain. I wanted to try and capture its imposing nature.
A relatively long exposure in Prince Albert National Park. This was an attempt to capture the majesty of a relatively plain wetland landscape.
