Quickly, some thoughts.
By Roz Young November 5, 2009
I’m about to go on vacation, so before I completely evacuate my brain (pull! whoosh) here’s some thoughts I’ve recently been thinking.

First, we saw the Paper Lions last week, and it’s a crime against all that is good and unholy that those dudes are not fabulously famous. Formerly the Chucky Danger Band, I saw these guys open for CAKE, and it blew my mind. I am in love with their drummer, David Cyrus MacDonald, in a completely inappropriate way.
Next, I like to listen to our modern rock radio station, Sonic 102.9, and they were taking to Sara this morning. Sara of Tegan and Sara “fame”. If you are Canadian, you’ve probably heard of these twin indie rockers. Or, apparently, if you are Ewan McGregor you have also heard of them and love their music (totally random, I know). Anyhoo, it’s not a secret that I am not their biggest fan. They’re from Calgary and well, that’s not a good start. Also they sound like harpies. My husband Nelson, however, loves Tegan and Sara music. We balance out. I have to admit, their new single “Hell” from the latest album, Sainthood, is too catchy for its own good. Where was I going with this? Oh yeah. So Garner Andrews, the morning show host, asks Sara if she’s a vegan. And she says something about being gay stereotyped. Wha what? I checked Wikipedia (internet oracle of all knowledge that would never lie to me), and indeed, both twins are lesbians. What are the odds, have we done the stats on this stuff?? How often are indie rock twins both gay?? Any twins? The idea was boggling my mind, with genetics and psychology contemplations, until Sara replied, “No, I love meat.” And then I lost every intelligent thought in my brain and burst out laughing. Because I have the maturity of a 14 year old boy. Sigh.
Lastly, if you’re curious, Matt and I were WoWing last night and we spent some time in the battlegrounds. We actually won in Arathi Basin, boo yah! And then we were spanked for the rest of the evening... That’s what she said! (Literally, that’s how Morin feels about her time in Warsong Gulch, she said that. I’ve renamed it Warsuck Gulch.)
See you after my week in Mexico! I’m taking Patchy with me, so predictions might be late this month. Zombie squirrels REALLY need their beauty rest.
