Sex sells (and I’m a sucker)

Ok, everybody knows that sex sells. You can see it in pretty much any ad you’ve ever looked at (ever see the boobs in the condensation on a can of Coke on the side of a vending machine? I swear it is not just me). In fact, it is because of this ubiquity that we all like to think we are immune to the sleazy charms of the advertising world. But that illusion has come crashing down for me in the last week or so. You see, the dvd set of the 5th season of Weeds was just released. I’m not entirely sure what the show is about, something about some suburban lady that starts selling pot for some reason. But since this box set was released I have felt the need to “acquire” the first season to see what this show is all about. And once you see the cover, I think you will understand why. It appears that dvd covers have gotten progressively more suggestive as the show goes on. I can only hope that the show also gets more titillating with time (I haven’t started watching it yet).
